New Delhi / Chennai — Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to India, Azamat Yeskarayev, held a high-level official meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay to discuss strategic pathways for broadening trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and the state.
During the discussions, Ambassador Yeskarayev detailed Kazakhstan’s evolving economic landscape, ongoing structural reforms, and competitive incentive packages designed to support foreign investors. He formally invited Tamil Nadu’s corporate sector to explore and execute lucrative investment projects within Kazakhstan. In response, the leadership of Tamil Nadu conveyed a strong, proactive interest in forging robust partnerships—specifically targeting sectors such as:
Mechanical engineering and industrial automation
Renewable and traditional energy
Advanced healthcare and medical education
Higher education and academic exchanges
High technologies and IT solutions

The official delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by H.E. Azamat Yeskarayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India, together with representatives of Kazakh Invest paid a courtesy visit to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to strengthen Kazakhstan–India economic cooperation and discussed preparations for the Kazakhstan–India Business, Trade & Investment Forum, to be held in Chennai on 8 September 2026.

A primary focus of the talks was laying the groundwork for the upcoming Kazakhstan–India Business, Trade and Investment Forum, slated to take place in Chennai in September 2026. Both sides noted that the arrival of a high-powered delegation representing Kazakh businesses will serve as a vital catalyst for establishing fresh commercial joint ventures and deepening bilateral trade momentum.
2. Industry Engagements and Chambers of Commerce
In addition to meeting state leadership, Ambassador Yeskarayev held targeted discussions with top executives from Tamil Nadu’s premier corporations and representatives of the South Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI). These sessions centered on showcasing Kazakhstan’s strategic geographic advantages, investor protections, and priority sectors for cross-border collaboration.
3. Strengthening Industrial Footprints: Voltech Engineers
As part of his regional itinerary, Ambassador Yeskarayev toured the manufacturing headquarters of Voltech Engineers Pvt. Ltd., an industry leader specializing in power systems and industrial automation. Voltech already maintains an active operational presence in Kazakhstan via its Almaty office, executing projects nationwide, and used the visit to reaffirm its roadmap for future expansion across the Kazakh market.
As one of India's economic powerhouses located in the country's southern corridor, Tamil Nadu boasts a population of approximately 79 million and features one of the largest, most diversified state economies in India. Its robust industrial ecosystem is anchored by world-class capabilities in:
