The Kazakhstan–India Business, Trade & Investment Forum 2026 convened at The Leela Palace, Chennai, establishing an active commercial corridor between Central Asia and South India. Organized by the India–Kazakhstan Business Council (IKBC) with institutional support from key industry bodies, the summit brought together senior ministers, diplomatic delegations, state promotion agencies, and private enterprise leaders to translate bilateral dialogue into actionable trade and investment agreements.

High-Level Plenary and Diplomatic Engagement

The opening plenary set out strategic priorities across trade policy, regulatory alignment, and regional investment corridors.

Key institutional perspectives and official representations included:

  • Government of Tamil Nadu: Insights from the Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce Department and Guidance Tamil Nadu on state-level incentives, manufacturing infrastructure, and cross-border project support.

  • Bilateral Leadership: Keynote addresses by H.E. Mr. Aidar Abildabekov, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and H.E. Mr. Y.K. Sailas Thangal, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Kazakhstan.

  • Institutional & Trade Bodies: Strategic input from Kazakh Invest, FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council, EXIM Bank India, Bank CenterCredit, QazTrade, and Kazakh Tourism.

A major milestone of the inaugural session was the formal exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Letters of Interest (LoIs) across targeted manufacturing, service, and trade verticals.

The forum hosted four technical and commercial tracks designed to map concrete market entry points:

Concrete Commercial Outcomes: G2B & B2B Matchmaking

Beyond panel discussions, the forum prioritized direct business engagement through structured Government-to-Business (G2B) and Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions. Indian enterprises in precision engineering, IT, pharmaceuticals, and infrastructure conducted targeted meetings with Kazakh trade officials and enterprise executives to explore joint ventures, licensing, and distribution channels.

With Kazakhstan serving as a pivotal logistics and resource gateway in Central Asia, and Tamil Nadu offering an advanced industrial and technological base, the Chennai forum established concrete institutional mechanisms to sustain ongoing deal flow and long-term economic integration.
